A. Yes, all Downeast Transportation buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts.

A. No, passengers must bring their own child seats.

Q: Where can I purchase multiple-ride tickets?

A. You can purchase tickets from bus drivers or at the DTI office at the Acadia Gateway Center in Trenton.

Q: What is the difference between round-trip and one-way fares?

A. On most routes, the round-trip fare is the same as the one-way fare, provided you complete your trip in the same day.

Q: Can I arrange to be picked up or dropped off at locations that are not on the scheduled route?

A. Yes, you can make arrangements for the bus driver to pick you up or drop you off at locations that are located within three-quarters of a mle of a scheduled route. For off-route stops, you must notify the Downeast Transportation office at least 24 hours in advance. Call (207) 667-5796.

A. The Island Explorer is a seasonal shuttle operated by Downeast Transportation. For Island Explorer information, visit www.exploreacadia.com or call (207) 288-4573.

Q: Can I get to L.L.Bean or Walmart on the Island Explorer?

A. No, Island Explorer shuttles do not serve Ellsworth. Instead use Downeast Transportation's midday service that operates weekdays between Bar Harbor and Ellsworth. Q: Is there a dress code for bus passengers?
